IBPS photo and signature size
IBPS asks for four separate uploads, each with its own size rules. Get every one of them right — photograph, signature, thumb impression and declaration.
- Choose Photograph, Signature or Thumb impression — the requirement for this exam is already filled in.
- Select your image and check the preview, moving the crop up or down if a face sits badly in the frame.
- Click Resize & Compress. The JPEG downloads inside the required size range.
What IBPS asks for
IBPS requires more uploads than most boards — four items, each with its own dimensions and range. This catches people out, because candidates prepare the photo and signature and then meet the thumb impression and declaration at the end of the form.

The thumb impression
Use the left thumb, on a blue or black ink pad, pressed onto plain white paper. If your left thumb is unavailable, the right is accepted; if neither is, another finger or a toe is permitted with a handwritten declaration to that effect. The impression must be clear — a smudged or partial print is rejected.
Practise on scrap paper first. Too much ink blurs the ridges, too little leaves gaps. Photograph it square-on in good light, crop tightly to the print, and select Thumb impression in the tool above.
The handwritten declaration
This is the item people most often get wrong, because it has rules of its own:
- It must be in English, regardless of your chosen exam language.
- It must be in your own handwriting — not typed, not written by anyone else.
- It must not be in capital letters. This is stated explicitly and it is enforced.
- The exact wording comes from your notification. Copy it precisely.
At 800 × 400 px and 50–100 KB it is the largest of the four uploads, so legibility is achievable — but write on unlined white paper with a dark pen and keep the lines straight.
IBPS RRB means banks, not railways
Worth clearing up, because it causes real confusion. IBPS RRB is recruitment for Regional Rural Banks and uses the specifications on this page. The Railway Recruitment Board, also abbreviated RRB, is an entirely separate organisation with its own requirements.
